AndArchitects were featured as a part of an article by The Sunday Times for securing the contract for the Rio Handball Arena :
‘From a leafy residential street near Battersea Park in London, Manuel Nogueira is leading the charge of British exporters.
The British-born architect is one of an army of designers, lawyers and accountants driving the economic recovery and bringing in billions of pounds of overseas business.
Last year Nogueira’s 10-strong practice AndArchitects won an impressive contract o design the handball arena for the 2016 Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games after joining forces with a local firm. When the Games are over, the arena will be dismantled and used to build four local schools.
Nogueira won the contract following his work on the London Olympics, where he helped to design several temporary structures, including the hospitality centre and BP’s pop-up mirrored box pavilion.’
